Welcome to Winneyoga

Yoga practice is a life changing experience, it leading to our journey to self-realization, which is the true goal of yoga. Yoga and dance had a profound impact on my life and wellbeing. They helped me reclaim confidence, find courage, and build strengths all those were needed to make many positive changes in my life.

After my first teacher training programme in 2014, yoga transformed into a lifelong journey of learning, sharing and teaching. My inner steadiness and love of athletics drew me into a serious study of yoga. In addition to my foundational Hatha Vinyasa teacher training, I has also expanded into Soundhealing, Pre- and Post-natal Yoga Teacher Training. My vision and knowledge have grown to include not only yoga, but also women’s health, life balance, and total wellness.

I feel grateful for the guidance given by Dario Calvaruso, founder and conceiver of the Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa™ method, who showed me how to facilitate a harmonious flow, rhythmic breathing, concentration and mental clarity.

This experience completely changed my vision of yoga, and helped me to demystify and clarify the physical practice and the spiritual path. Which led me to meet Carlos Pomeda in 2016. The study of texts expanded my insights into human nature. Deepen my understanding of the history of yoga and its philosophical evolution. Through meditation, I learned introspection.

With my aerial journey began in 2014 in pole fitness and continued onto aerials arts and aerial yoga. Become a certified antigravity instructor in 2016.

Yoga Styles

Below are the different styles I’m qualified to teach.
The best way is to try them all and see which styles resonates with you

Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga combines the basics of yoga with calisthenics, dance, pilates and acrobatics. With the help of a ‘hammock’ from the ceiling, you will reach a greater range of motion and a deeper stretch than doing yoga on the floor.

Incorporates all the benefits and enjoyments of regular yoga and more, you will achieve: greater flexibility, better focus, strengthened & leaner muscles, better circulation

Pre-natal yoga

Pre-natal yoga is a practice creates awareness and calmness; allowing the pregnant woman to feel her inner clarity as it brings confidence. Letting the mom feel peaceful as her anxiety concerning the birth process decreases. The exercises are specifically designed as gentle, strength building stretches to help the pregnant woman release tension and relax throughout her pregnancy.

Post-natal yoga

Post-natal yoga is a wonderful playtime for both you and your baby. Discover essential tips on gentle stretches and learn how to feel more connected with your baby and look after your body after pregnancy. The practice is so simple yet so powerful in what it conveys – your love, your understanding and your attention.

Vinyasa/Flow

Experience your body in movement synchronized with the breath. The breath acts as an anchor to the movement as you to flow from one pose to the next in your own rhythm. Discover your body in experiencing yoga as a fluid dance rather than a mere string of static poses.

Minimal instructions are given during practice to facilitate a harmonious flow, rhythmic breathing, concentration and mental clarity.

Detox Flow

Detox Flow refers to a Vinyasa practice, designed to stimulate the lymphatic, digestive and circulatory system by opening, compressing and twisting internal organs. Emphasis is also placed on deep and effective breathing, and alignment. The whole practice creates internal heat which through increased circulation and sweating, detoxifies and strengthens the whole body.

Yoga facilities cleaning, keeping waste-removal departments of the body functioning well.

Hatha

Hatha is a general category that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (yoga breathing exercises). It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.

It’s a mixed level class, all levels are welcome. Options will be provided for different bodies. By practicing of asanas and pranayama, help bring peace to the mind and body.

Power

Power Yoga is an energetic type of yoga that delivers a challenging physical workout, it is definitely an intense flowing yoga that will make you sweat. It’s great for strength training, while makes you feel energized. But still keep the same qualities and benefits as other types of yoga, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.

Power up your body and boost your core, release the tension for your first day of work.

Destress

This is a stress relief class not a relaxing class, many students confused about it. Anytime you work with your body, you are also working with your mind and the energy system. It’s balanced class of dynamic and still poses designed to release tension in your body, increase mental focus and improve concentration. A great way to reduce stress, stay in shape and calm the mind.

Stretch

Focus on flexibility, skeletal alignment, relaxation, and best of all, de-stress. This class will help to relieve tension and back pain, decrease risk of injuries, increase range of movement and even help you sleep better at night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why I became a yoga instructor?

Learning by teaching. Learning never stops anywhere ! Before start teaching I already have the habit of learning every where. I learn from my students, a give and take. It’s a lifelong journey.

I'm really inflexible can i still do yoga

Most of the us have experienced this before, when our friends heard about our daily yoga practice the first thing they would said

” I wish I could do yoga but I am just too stiff”

“I can’t do yoga, I am not bendy”

But if you think about it, this make no sense at all. You don’t need a haircut if your hair is short, nor would you need to eat when you are full. Then, how come when you are stiff you don’t  want to “stretch it out”?

Of course yoga is much more than about stretching, the world of yoga is so fest, it is about the mind/body connection, about relaxation, self-recognition… I have read from somewhere before, say you do yoga it’s like telling me you are driving a car, you didn’t tell me what brand, what model, at what speed.

I often joke about how flexible people should get a discount with their membership, because half of the asana has no effects on them! Yet most often it is the flexible people who are encourage to persuade yoga. Yoga is much bigger than this, it is about pushing.

Work your body! Rather than work in asana!

Can I eat before yoga?

As my experience, I have in the past felt sick in the class and stomach ache because I ate too much before practice.

Eat something light, easy to digest foods a couple of hours before practice is fine. Fruits always a good option, smoothies, nuts and juice also good.

In general, there’s 4 main reasons of empty stomach practice. First, there’s some postures work on the digestive tract, and most likely will make people feel uncomfortable if you eat too much before practice. Second, empty stomach will help you to prevent some embarrassing moments of farting or hiccuping during practice. Third, food is interrupting you to have a calm mind and body for the practice. Forth, the whole digestion process is stopped during practice, energy shifts to focus to your muscles. Therefore the digestion should be done before you start; means 3 to 4 hours after a heavy lunch, 1 to 2 hours after a light meal, 45 minutes after having a juice, tea, milk or yoghurt, and 15 minutes after drinking a glass of water.

Some people just need food to keep energy levels up and keep an even blood sugar levels. Listen to your body, practicing yoga is to improve body awareness.

The key is not how many you eat but what you eat and the portion you choose. Definitely should avoid heavy foods such as fried foods, meats, processed grains before yoga class. Avoid spicy foods prior to your yoga session as it may cause severe heartburn.

You are what you eat! Listen to your body, enjoy practice. Namaste.

Why do yoga?

Yoga is a experience for everyone. Yoga is spiritual but not religious. Yoga is not torturing our body. We should deepen our understanding about this ancient system of well-being. Breath awareness is very important during practice. Keep the face calm and relaxing. Open up space in our body, open up space in our mind. Let go. Be Free. Find the happiness. Om.

Why do private yoga

Today’s group classes are fun, energising and help to create a strong community and affordable yoga, however, in a group class teachers may not be able to deliver the individualised attention and guidance that we all need at one time or another.

Why take a private yoga lesson?

  • A private session allows for a more intimate view into YOUR practice. You can start a new practice, deepen your current practice or spend some time working with an injury or specific goal or concern.
  • Eases or reduces the stress or intimidation experienced by beginners when attending large group yoga classes for the first time.  Private yoga lessons will give you a crash course on the basics of yoga, which will give you the foundation necessary to feel comfortable in a group environment.
  • Private yoga classes are the perfect way to work with special health concerns, injuries, or any other limitations you may experience. If you are concerned about the possibility of a re-injury, working one-on-one with a private yoga instructor you will learn how to adapt certain postures and use modifications as well as find out if there are specific poses to avoid when in class.

Private yoga classes can offer a highly viable option if you have set a specific goal – whether it’s mental, emotional, spiritual or physical. With a specific goal in mind, I can tailor and create a specific practices for you designed to help meet your goals.
